Moubon Yoghurt Dessert Food Alert

The Food Standards Agency is advising people not to eat Moubon yoghurt dessert after it was found to be produced on unapproved premises. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Action.

-- The label is purple and white - the word 'Moubon' is in a blue floral leaf design on a purple background.
-- Brand name: Moubon
-- Packaging: available in large and small clay pots (no weights on pack) with a clingfilm cover and packed for delivery in white outer packaging

Action being taken

Enforcement officers from the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham entered the premises of Misti Ghar UK Ltd, Barking, under warrant on the 20 February 2007. The premises were producing yoghurt but were unapproved. A number of food hygiene offences were identified. A Voluntary Closure Agreement was obtained between Misti Ghar UK Ltd and the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. The remaining products were voluntarily surrendered.

Local authority enforcement officers have been asked to check small specialist Asian cash and carry stores and shops in their areas and remove any of these yoghurts that they find.
